Heritage Open Days is England’s biggest celebration of history and culture - and it’s completely FREE!

Across the country, thousands of heritage venues are throwing open their doors for one fantastic festival, packed with stories, discoveries, and unforgettable experiences. Get ready to uncover hidden gems, quirky tales, and some seriously fascinating local legends.

There’ll be plenty to see and do, with free activities and surprises for all ages. We’re also thrilled to bring some exciting new venues and events to the programme — come along, explore, and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear from you!

Heritage Open Days is proudly coordinated by Showtown, but it’s the amazing venues, brilliant organisations, and fantastic volunteers who truly make the magic happen - generously giving their time to bring Blackpool’s heritage to life and make it accessible and fun for everyone.

All our events are FREE to explore, however some require you to pre-book ahead of the day.
