Here you will find information on facilities at Showtown.
Throughout the museum are three sets of unisex toilets - on the ground floor behind the shop area and on the first floor opposite the ticket desk and in the gallery space by It's better with the lights on gallery.
Accessible toilets are located with the toilets on the ground floor and by It's better with the lights on gallery. Both accessible toilets are a right hand transfer.
Changing Places Toilet
We have a Changing Places toilet which is accessed via radar key. Please ask a member of staff if you need to borrow a radar key. This toilet is on the first floor but is easily accessed and near to the lifts. The space includes a unisex accessible peninsular toilet with handrails and grab bars, adjustable height washbasin with grab bars, wet room shower, multi-care trolley with adjustable height and tilting back rest, electric hoist system to 200kg, privacy folding screen, emergency call point and 6 hooks for clothes/possessions. There is plenty of room for at least two carers and a wheelchair user.
Baby change can be found in the accessible toilet on the ground floor and on the first floor in our parent and baby room opposite the ticket desk. This space will have a changing unit and a chair for feeding if desired.
To make your visit easier with children, we have a family toilet with the toilets on the ground floor and first floor opposite the ticket desk.
The museum is located on the first floor of the building and this can be accessed via the main staircase or our two lifts.
We have a number of wheelchairs and walking aids to hire during your visit to Showtown. Unfortunately the space cannot accommodate mobility scooters.
The museum is pram friendly, however if you are able to navigate the galleries without the use of a pram, we do have a buggy park available. There are 16 buggy locks available which require a £1 coin which you will get back on your return.
Lockers are available to store your property during your visit to Showtown. Lockers are £1 to use and you will get this back once you no longer need use of the locker.
There is plenty of seating for visitors across the museum.
