The museum is currently being built, but we hope to open our doors to you in 2023.
The museum will be on the first floor of the new Sands Venue Resort Hotel. This building will be next door but one to the Blackpool Tower. The door to the museum will be on Bank Hey Street.
Showtown will have six galleries. They will explore seaside, magic, circus, Illuminations, shows and dance. You will be able to see 100s of exhibits and get involved in lots of fun activities. There will also be a learning space for schools and groups. Plus a gallery space for changing exhibitions.

There will be entry fee of £9.95 for adults and £7.95 for children at the door for non-Blackpool residents. You’ll be able to get a reduced price if you book in advance of £7.95 for an adult and £5.95 for children.
All tickets are valid for one year. This means you can come back as many times as you like for a whole year!
When the museum opens its doors, in 2023, there will be up to 39 full time equivalent employees working in a range of jobs. All jobs will be advertised on Greater Jobs and across our social media sites.

From September 2021 Showtown will offer a range of meaningful and exciting work placements.
We will:
- welcome apprentices, trainees and Chance2Shine employees into the team
- work with local organisations to offer short work experience placements
- invite schools into Showtown to learn about our different job roles
- work with colleges and universities to provide opportunities for students
- work with other cultural organisations across Blackpool to deliver careers eventsCheck back soon for more details.
