The museum is currently being built, however we look forward to throwing open our doors on the 15 March 2024.
The museum will be on the first floor of the Palatine Building on the Promenade. This building will be next door but one to the Blackpool Tower. The door to the museum will be on Bank Hey Street.
Showtown will have six galleries. They will explore seaside, magic, circus, Illuminations, shows and dance. You will be able to see 100s of exhibits and get involved in lots of fun activities. There will also be a learning space for schools and groups. Plus a gallery space for changing exhibitions.

Showtown will offer FREE entry to Blackpool residents. (Those paying council tax to Blackpool Council only).
There will be an entry fee for non-Blackpool residents.
All tickets are valid for one year. This means you can come back as many times as you like for a whole year!
When the museum opens its doors, in 2024, there will be up to 39 full time equivalent employees working in a range of jobs. All jobs will be advertised on our careers page and across our social media sites.

The creation of Showtown is a £14 million project. Our funders are:

- Garfield Weston Foundation
- Wolfson Foundation
- Individual private donations
We currently have a funding gap in the region of half a million pounds. We hope to raise this through events, sponsorship packages and more donations. You could donate to help us reach this target.
