The award-winning attraction, located in the heart of Blackpool, is recruiting talented actors, dancers and variety performers to step into a world of larger-than-life characters, playful storytelling and tongue-in-cheek theatricality. From formidable landladies to flamboyant ringmasters, Showtown’s cast guide visitors through the town’s rich heritage with warmth, wit and a big dose of seaside silliness.
Performers will portray iconic figures inspired by Blackpool’s past, including the fearsome Blackpool Landlady, the charismatic Circus Ringmaster, the definitely-not-a-fake Seaside Quack, the relentlessly enthusiastic Northern Holidaymaker and the snootiest Dance Instructor you’ve ever met. Each role combines scripted scenes with improvisation, interactive moments and themed activities, all delivered with a comic edge and a strong sense of place.
Showtown is particularly keen to hear from performers with skills in juggling, clowning, magic and illusion, or Latin and Ballroom dance, though outstanding storytellers and character actors from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Roles are built from flexible scripts, allowing each performer to create a distinctive version of their character while remaining true to the period and the museum setting.

Topher Saint, Cast Producer at Showtown, said:
“For the past two years, Showtown’s larger-than-life characters have been delighting audiences, and now we’re on the hunt for brilliant local talent to make Blackpool laugh louder than ever.”
Successful applicants will join a creative, playful ensemble working in one of the UK’s most talked-about new museums. Benefits include holiday pay, with daytime shifts based around museum opening hours and scheduled according to availability.
Showtown is especially eager to hear from talent based in Blackpool and across the wider Lancashire region, offering a unique opportunity to perform in an award-winning visitor attraction while celebrating the town’s extraordinary entertainment heritage.
Applications should be sent to Cast Producer Topher Saint at topher.saint@showtownblackpool.co.uk by Wednesday 21 January. Auditions will take place at Showtown on Friday 30 January.
