Bright Lights in Dark Times
Best suited for: KS2
Duration: 2 hours including time to explore Showtown
Overview: Meet a 1940s landlady as she delves into what Blackpool was like during World War II. Learn about the evacuees and military personnel who called Blackpool home during this period, and get hands on with Morse Code communication.
Curriculum Links: Geography, History, Science, English

Seaside Fun
Best suited for: Early Years Foundation Stage
Duration: 40 minutes plus time to explore Showtown
Meet a sleepy Blackpool tourist as they tell you all about their perfect day at the beach. Learn about all the things they’ve done, take a look at some souvenirs old and new, and join them in sending a postcard back home.

Beside the Seaside
Best suited for: KS1 and KS2
Duration: 2 hours including time to explore Showtown
Overview: Meet a 1950s walkies photographer as they help the class explore Blackpool’s history.
Curriculum Links: Geography, History and depending on activities chosen: Science, Maths, English, Design and Citizenship

Sensory Seaside
Best suited for: Special Educational Needs (KS1 & KS2)
Duration: 40 minutes plus time to explore Showtown
Overview: Immerse yourself in the seaside with our sensory seaside workshop.
A day at the seaside is perfect for relaxing and taking everything in. What can you see, smell, touch, taste and hear when you visit the seaside? Use your senses to explore a day by the sea and have fun singing along to our favourite seaside tune.
This activity will be tailored and adapted to the needs of the class.

Selling the Seaside
Best suited for: KS3
Duration: 50 minute activity plus time to explore Showtown
Overview: Come and visit England’s favourite playground for glowing health and dazzling lights!
Discover how Blackpool’s entertainment attractions have helped keep landladies in business for over 100 years. The class will then be tasked with keeping Blackpool’s entertainment industry alive by creating a brand new attraction for the town.
