For over a 100 years, Lancashire has supplied some of the nation’s best entertainers from Stan Laurel to Eric Morecambe to Peter Kay. Why has the region produced so many comedians?
The answer could be linked to the unique history of the Industrial Revolution in Lancashire which provided great conditions for the creation of a comic tradition.
